On a warm balmy summers evening Toastmasters gather in the lounge of the local Widmor pub to celebrate the end of a successful year of Bromley Speakers and the handing over of the presidents medallion from the outgoing president Tony Babatunde to the new president Richard Murray.
The Toast master of the evening was the well skilled, charismatic and engaging Joe De Souza.
Before dinner Tony Babatunde gave a presentation about his year in office and how he enjoyed his year as president and how much the club had improved but it was not all by his efforts alone and he gave praise to his active and supportive committee.
The time came to hand over the president's medallion. In the true and trusted tradition of Bromley speakers all past presidents took part in the ceremony. There was an amazing ten past presidents present and it made a colourful scene.
The new president Richard Murray presented the new committee and thanked Tony for all his efforts and congratulated Tony on leaving the club in such good standing.
Richard talked about his vision for the coming year and how he wanted to help as many members as possible reach there personal goals help them along on there journey to become better speakers and by doing so the club will remain a vibrant active club.
Good food and conversation was had by all followed by two after dinner speeches the first was Elaine Powell with her normal, confident and natural presence informing us not to take any notice of those negative thoughts we have that stops us reaching our full potential and we must strive to live the life we all deserve. A very powerful and thoughtful presentation.
Next speaker was the lively veteran speaker Chris Rose who entertained the audience with his sharp wit and anecdotes.
Finally outstanding Toastmasters where recognised for the exceptional efforts through the year.
Jenny Taggart for here stupendous performance as the Vice president of education, Richard Green for his passion as sergeant at arms and willingness to help out.
Frank Forster for his full support of all the events through out the year.

Yet another Bromley speaker's dinner has past we all look forward to an active year in the club and the challenges that it brings.
Bromley Speakers Club witnessed a fun filled Humorous Speech Competition and Table Topic Competition on 17th Sept. Ripley Arts Centre was filled to capacity with the guests and the Toastmasters from Bromley and neighborhood speaking clubs.
Winning humor speech was from Chris with the speech title "Little bit of a prick", which tickled the audience with non-stop puns. Chris continued is winning streak by grabbing Table Topic speech competition's first position too. Clubs wishes Chris with good luck for the Area Competition in September end.

Bromley Speakers club announces this year's humour speech competition. The contest will be at on 17th September at Ripley Arts Center. For registration, VP Education, Jenny.
Bromley Speakers club, part of Toastmasters International concluded its 2008-09 year with celebrations on 28 July 2009. Jenny Taggart and team had organised an exciting evening at Ripley Arts Center. Toastmaster for the evening was enigmatic speaker and showman Chris Rose. Later in the evening Edwin Woodger, the founding member took the guests through the journey of the club's start in 1992 from his house to Ripley Arts Center as it is today. Frank Forster, gave an entertaining speech about his adventure on eBay of buying a 12 feet boat. It was a magnificent finale to another successful year at Bromley Speakers.
Bromley Speakers welcomes Tony Babatunde as the new club President for 2009/2010. Tony is taking over the club leadership from Steve Roberts.
Prior to becoming Club President, Tony was Vice-President of Public Relations and more recently Vice-President of Membership. Tony has also contributed to the creation of Lewisham Speakers. He stepped into his new role with energy and enthusiasm. Thanks to his experience and focus, there is no doubt he will take Bromley Speakers through another successful year.
